Since Kerri and I are busy getting ready for our girls weekend we thought we’d write a post and reminisce about our trip to Costa Rica in January. This time last year we had our trip booked and we were just counting down the days. This was both mine and Kerri’s first all inclusive resort trip and also my first time flying woohoo! We were in good hands since we traveled with Mia and Hailley our EM pals who are seasoned travelers.
We went to Costa Rica for a week and stayed along the west coast just outside of Tamarindo. We had a fun week of soaking up the hot sun, getting some much needed rest and relaxation with some adventure thrown in the mix. For our excursions we opted for one day of ziplining and horseback riding with a crazy water slide and another full day visit to the Arenal Volcano and hot springs. Horseback riding turned out to be more of an adventurous and scary experience than I think we all initially thought, but we survived and now have some fun stories to share.
We were able to see some wildlife on our excursions as well – seeing a whole family of Howler Monkeys was really neat and we saw a sloth, which seem to be an even stranger creature in person.
Here’s just a few of the hundreds of photos that were taken:
I’d love to go back and explore some of the other areas. When we we visited Arenal we passed some groups of cyclists so it would be amazing to go back and cycle there. I don’t have any travel plans in the near future so for now I’ll have to add that to my bucket list.
It was an amazing trip and I’d go back in a heartbeat. Hopefully there will be more trips with the EM ladies in the future!
Does anyone have plans to skip the snow and go warm this winter?
