Fall is one of our favourite seasons and this year we plan to soak up as much of it as we can. After our fall walk last week it was time to bring some of those colours into our own homes. So this week we ventured out to the pumpkin patch! The one we went to this year was one of the best I have ever seen. If it weren’t for the wind chill that day I’m sure we could have stayed all afternoon! They had pumpkins in all sizes and they even had red and black pumpkins which I had never seen before (except for the year I spray painted mine). They also had some of the smallest pumpkins and gourds I’ve ever seen- I’m hoping to make a centerpiece using some of these.
We also love apple picking but because of the weather this year most orchards didn’t offer pick-your-own apples. Krista was lucky enough to find an orchard on the one day they were letting people pick their own (lucky duck!). She also picked up a few more pumpkins there so we are well equipped for everything we love about fall- baking and decorating with apples and pumpkins and of course decorating our perfectly orange pumpkins closer to Hallowe’en. Over the next few weeks we will be sharing our favourite fall and Hallowe’en ideas and we hope you will share your favourite ideas with us too!
Have you gotten your pumpkins yet?
